Hey! I'm Andy, a software developer, writer, husband and dad from the north of England, now living in Shetland.

In my day job I write code in C# using .NET, administer Microsoft SQL Servers, manage too many other servers, and use modern JavaScript frameworks like Angular to do cool stuff. I do a lot of other things too, but those top the list.

When I'm not working, I write games, fiddle with technology, improve my skills at nålbinding, grow vegetables, compost anything that I can turn into sweet, sweet dirt, and try to better myself by living cleanly, simply, and well.

I like plants and began a degree in Plant Science at the start of the '90s but got distracted by computers. I have a soft spot for mosses, lichen, and fungi, so living on a boggy island in the North Sea suits me fine.

I'm an environmentalist, anti- a bunch of bad things, and have a strong sense of social justice. We need to make changes, politically, economically, and socially, or else our kids are going to inherit a burning planet. I wish this was hyperbole, but it isn't.

I'm passionate about mental health awareness, a trained Mental Health First Aider and loudly outspoken about MH. I can also be a bit effin' sweary, but you get used to it.
