Perihelion
Perihelion is the game I've kind of always wanted to write. I grew up on 80s roleplaying games, heavy metal, and stumbled across William Gibson's Neuromancer when I was barely a teenager. The latter really changed my view on sci-fi. I was hooked on speculative fiction and the cool, if not slightly terrifying, prospect of a very possible future. I absorbed everything I could about this new genre. After all, it WAS just fiction, right?
Well, that worked out well, didn't it?
Later on in the 80s I got into the R.Talsorian Cyberpunk RPG, starting with 2013. Perihelion takes some of its inspiration from that game (including some of the mechanical ideas) and adds a hefty dose of existential dread, eco-horror, social injustice, surveillance culture, and hard science, and throws you into the deep end.
The Earth is a dying remnant of the climate crisis, left to burn by the richest 1% who now live a life of luxury in vast space stations floating at Earth’s stable Lagrange Points. Mars is a wild frontier colonised by scientists and corporations and torn apart by factional warfare. You are anarchists, survivors, rebels, hacktivists, and high-tech radicals, fighting for social justice in an unjust world.
You can read about Perihelion on its Itch page.
It's a constant work in process, but you can download everything you need to create a character with its rather cool (if I say so myself) lifepath system.
